Production
character development
Vagabond
In early versions of scripts, the tramp first called Homer, then Rags and Bozo. However, in the finished film, said the tramp own name, although most of the canine cast of the film refer to it as "vagabond." The Vagabond has other names given to families who visit food weekly, like Mike and Fritzi. However, there is a family, if your name is not confirmed, but most comic books and even the film itself after taking office, was named Hobo Jim Dear and Darling for.
Aunt Sarah
The character that became Aunt Sarah in the film has softened compared to previous treatments. In the film, she is a well-meaning aunt gossip (revealed in our sister the mother in the novelization Darling Greene) who love their cats. Aunt Sarah Earlier projects are more like a stereotypical arrogant interference and stepmother. His ability for singing is apparently nonexistent. Although it is antagonistic to the First Lady Tramp, sends a box of dog biscuits for Christmas repaired by misunderstood whatever.
If AM &
Earlier versions of the story, written in 1943 during the war there were two cats are shown as a vindication of torque, which suggests the yellow peril. They were originally named Nip Tuck. In Ward Greene novel, express remorse and tears caused by the imminent execution of the tramp in hiding the body of the rat as a joke, and then try to repair the damage, while in the film, which do not participate in the climactic scene.
Jim Dear and Darling
In pre-production, was known as Jim Dear Jim Brown, Darling and called Elizabeth. These have been abandoned to highlight the point to the Virgin. In early versions, published a story in an anthology in 1944 Disney children, Our Lady referred to as "Mister" and "mistress." To maintain perspective of a dog, Jim Darling faces and often soon. The artists who basically does domestic models Home and Dear Jim Darling, and photos and film taken at a point of view in reference to the maintenance of a dog.
Film opening sequence, which develops Darling a hat box on Christmas morning and find the heart of the Virgin, is based on a true story in the life of Walt Disney where he presented his wife with a Chow puppy Lily as a gift in a box of hats.
Beaver
The beaver this film is similar to the character of Pooh and Gopher in tree honey, the creation of the plant: a whistle when he made the "S" sound. That voice has created by Stan Freberg, who has extensive experience in commercial recordings, and comedy. The Lady and the Tramp Platinum Edition DVD shows how the effect has been done and a whistle finally served, it was difficult to maintain the effect.
Rat
The rat, a character as humorous, in some quick sketches, it became much more frightening, because of the need to increase dramatic tension.
History
In 1937, legendary Disney story man Joe Grant went to Walt Disney with some sketches he had made his Springer Spaniel named Lady and some of his antics regularly. Disney knows sketches and told Grant to put them together in a storyboard. When Grant returned to his table, Disney was not happy and the story was shelved.
In 1943, Walt Cosmopolitan read a story written by Ward Greene, called Happy Dan Whistling the dog. "He was interested in history and has bought the rights to it.
In 1949, Grant had left the studio, but men ever in the history of Disney drawing original drawings of the grant and the history of the library to reorganize. Finally a solid story began to take shape in 1953, based on storyboards and short story by Grant Green. Greene later wrote a novelization of the film was released two years before the movie itself, the request of Walt Disney, so that the public is familiar with history. Grant will not receive credit for any work history in the film, a question that the animation director Eric Goldberg hopes to change the lady and a sticker on the wings, the Tramp Platinum Edition explains the role of Grant.
Cinemascope
More information: Cinemascope
This was the first Disney animated feature filmed in CinemaScope. Presented in a 2.55:1 aspect ratio, that is, until now, the best movie Disney has the product. Sleeping Beauty was also produced by a 2.55:1 aspect ratio of origin, but has never been presented in theaters In this way, the film is nevertheless presented in its original 2.55:1 on DVD and Blu-Ray Disc Platinum Edition Release.
This new innovation CinemaScope presented some additional problems for the leaders: the expansion of space of canvas, it is difficult for a single character to dominate the screen, and the groups should be divided to keep the screen appear rare. It takes more necessary, and constantly break cut seems too busy or boring. designers essentially had to reinvent their art. Facilitators should remember that they could move characters in the background behind the background. The leaders have overcome these obstacles in the action scenes, like the tramp kill the rat. However, some development character is lost because it was more realistic, but fewer large aircraft, a lesser involvement with the public.
More problems have come from the date of the first approached. Although Cinemascope was becoming an increasing concern for movie fans, all theaters were able at that time. To the Hearing this, Walt has published two versions of the film that was created: a large screen, and another in the original aspect ratio. This involved the collection of models restructure key scenes in which characters have been the area outside the screen.
Script Reviews
This section needs additional references for verification.
Please, please, this article deals. reference material can be impeached and removed. (August 2009)
The finished film is slightly different as than originally planned. Although the original script and the final product shares many of the same elements, it would still be reviewed and corrected. Madonna is having initially a single neighbor, a dog named Ralph Bellamy type Hubert. Hubert was replaced by the jockey and faithful. A scenario created then deleted one that, despite the fears of the Virgin the arrival of the baby, she has a parade of "shoes" nightmare (similar to Dumbo the elephant "Pink Parade" in the "nightmare) that is divided booty baby in two, then four, and growing. Sleep and shoes mixed in real shoes, carrying her crying when the baby is born. [Citation needed]
Another scene was cut after the faithful said everyone knows, the best friend of a dog is his "man. This is a Tramp describing a world where the roles of both dogs and humans are lit, the dogs are the teachers and vice versa.
Prior to being simply "The Tramp", the character has had a few more names proposed, including Homer, Rags and Bozo. It was thought in the 1950s that the term "vague" is not acceptable, but given that Walt Disney has approved the election, are considered safe by virtue of its acceptance. The first script that appears in the Backstage Disney DVDs description has listed a " stray dog "with" Homer "or one of the names mentioned above.
Spaghetti sequence
The spaghetti scene, where Lady and the Tramp eating ends opposite a single strand of spaghetti at the meeting in the middle, a scene parodied often, especially in the aftermath of its own, The Lady and the Tramp II: The Adventure of rogue.
Release
At that time, the film had a higher figure than any other Disney animated feature since Snow White. An episode of Disneyland called A history of dogs released before the release of the film. The film was reissued in theaters in 1962 and 1971, 1980 and 1986, and on VHS and laserdisc in 1987 (it was in Disney Series Classic video) and 1998 (which was on the set of Walt Disney Masterpiece Collection of videos). A limited edition DVD Disney has released issued on November 23 1999. It has been remastered and restored for DVD February 28, 2006, the seventh installment of the Platinum Edition series. Million copies of the Platinum Edition has been sold to 28 February 2006 Platinum Edition DVD then moratorium on January 31, 2007, with the reissue DVD 2006 Lady and the Tramp II: The Adventure of rogue.

Rogue also appears in a 2001 video direct sequel "Lady and the Tramp II: Scamp's Adventure. Walt Disney Comics Digest Number 54 has a new adventure of The Lady and the Tramp copyright dated 1955.
Reception
Despite being a huge success at the box office, the film was initially criticized by many critics: it was reported that the dogs had "The size of the hippopotamus", another that "the work of artists is below par. "But the film has come to be regarded as a classic.
Lady and the Tramp was named number 95 of "100 Greatest Love Stories Of All Time" by the American Film Institute in A Hundred Years … A hundred special passions.

She helped promote the film in the Disney television series, explaining his work with the score and sing some numbers from the film.
